Cho Mamas 2010

Welcome to the Cho Mamas blog!!! This years Ragnar race was awesome! The Cho Mamas finished in just a little over 28 hours and took 47th out of 658 teams in the mixed division! CHO & GO!!!!

Here is a little picture documentary from me, Jenny. I was in Van 2 and we had soooo much fun! If the Trib wants to do another article on the Cho Mamas next year, we will definitely have some good pictures to give them (it was so lame that they used another team's picture in OUR article!)

So let us begin...We met up at Hilary's house to carbo load (thanks Hil!) and decorate the van.
Thanks to Tyler for hooking us up with the "Cho-mousine". The lovely green beast was super comfy and spacious. Plus, it came free of charge with a lovely smoky aroma that masked the sweaty running smell we all had!
Notice the sad peanut...(Don't ask)...

Van 2 runners: Larry, Tyler, Jen, Jenny, Hilary, Adam

"GUN SHOW!"
Future Cho Mama member Will...
As we were pulling out of Hilary's driveway, Tyler put on these bad boys...notice the tape in the middle...

After a long day of waiting (van 1 had the long day of running!) we finally started off our Ragnar experience with Adam taking our first leg!

Looking good as he ran off into the sunset...

While Adam was running, the 11 other Cho Mamas got a group picture.

Adam just about done with his first leg. He did awesome!

The exchange with Hilary...

And here I am taking off on my first leg. I am laughing because my butt light fell off and broke on the ground! SAFETY VIOLATION! Thank goodness Tyler ran me a new one so that safety violation was no longer valid!

Once I was done, it was starting to get really dark so that was the end of the pictures on Friday.

The next day, Adam started his leg around 4:00 am (still too dark for pictures) and Hilary ran around 5:00 am (and still too dark) so the first picture of the day was me finishing my lovely 9.6 miler...It was cold!

Here is Tyler PASSING "Boston Guy". Tyler saw this guy at the Boston Marathon last year...and Tyler SMOKED him again!!!!

Larry waiting for the exchange from Tyler. I think Larry just downed a Pepsi so he was ready to run!

Here is Larry tearing it up!

Next up was Jen who rocked it! She had too many kills to keep track of!

After a nice shower and a little R&R at my in-law's house, Van 2 was ready for our final legs! Here is Adam in the middle of the afternoon...it was HOT!
Here is Hilary making sure he had water (what a good wife!)

Here I am making sure he had water too (Don't worry Adam, it's a cousin thing...no one else can understand)

The angels were singing as Hilary found the blessed Honey Buckets before her final leg. "Wow, these smell amazing!"

Hilary did such an awesome job her last leg! It was super hot and she ran that 10K in less than an hour!

Ok...can we say FASHION VIOLATION?

We prided ourselves on our commitment to safety...Here is Larry making sure we got across the street safely.

Hilary making sure I got across the street safely (I'm totally goofing around with my face)

My goofing around was short lived as I started up my final leg...ouch!

Once I finished my grueling 3.6 miles, it was time for Tyler to start the infamous Ragnar leg...4 miles of nothing but steep hills.

Tyler looking strong...

Tyler looking "not so strong"...I think he was cursing us in his head, saying "I hate you guys for making me run this!"

But he sucked up the pain and ran a 39:32! Negative splits! One of the fastest Ragnar times ever!

Once we hit the top of the mountain, we found some snow....

...and we also found Larry who was smokin it down the hill. Lucky for him, the nice Ragnar people added an extra 1.5 miles to his leg. Way to run it Larry!
(Ok...start singing the theme song from "Rocky" in your head as you look at the final pictures). Here are all the Cho Mamas finishing the Ragnar 2010 race! Jen also rocked her last leg as she was our final runner.
We did it! Bonus that the Ragnar medals are bright ORANGE!

Hilary and Adam at the finish.
Jen and Jen...Oh, I love my best friend! (Hey, that rhymed...I'll stop it, I really mean it...anybody want a peanut?)

Thanks again to all the awesome Cho Mamas who pushed themselves to the limit and accomplished something amazing. We ran 190 miles!

I hope that you will all upload whatever pictures and stories you have from this year's race so we can all enjoy them together.

RELAX & CHO EVERYONE!
